Kitchens for one of London’s
most architecturally varied villages.

Hampstead is unlike most of central London. The housing stock varies more, the streets are narrower, the gradients are steeper, and the village character around Heath Street, Church Row, Flask Walk and Holly Hill is genuinely intact. Refurbishing a kitchen here means working with a quieter, more pastoral set of constraints — but constraints all the same.

The brief in Hampstead changes more by property type than by street. Georgian and Victorian village houses around Hampstead Village proper want kitchens that are sympathetic to original cornicing, fireplaces and panelling. Arts and Crafts homes around Frognal and Redington Road reward design that respects the original detailing — oak, exposed timber, hand-finished metalwork. Belsize Park’s tall Victorian terraces are often the brief for substantial side-return or rear extensions. Edwardian mansion blocks along Fitzjohn’s Avenue have managing agents and acoustic constraints to satisfy.

We have refurbished kitchens across all of it. Cabinetry is hand-built in our workshop. Worktops are templated on site, slab-matched at every joint. Installation is done by the carpenters who built the cabinetry. Access is planned around the village reality — the steep hill gradients, the narrow lanes, the parking constraints — not against it.

Discuss Your Hampstead Kitchen

From the first measure
to the final snag.

Every bespoke kitchen we deliver in Hampstead is end-to-end. One team. One point of contact. One standard. Nothing on the project is sub-contracted to a different crew with different priorities.

01

Bespoke Design

Measured survey, layout options and elevation drawings designed for the proportions of a Hampstead village house, Arts and Crafts home or Edwardian mansion block.

02

Hand-Built Cabinetry

In-frame Shaker, handleless or bespoke door styles. Solid timber face frames, dovetailed drawer boxes, soft-close throughout, painted in your specified palette.

03

Marble & Stone

Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario, quartzite and engineered stone. Templated on site, slab-matched at joints, edges finished by hand.

04

Demolition & Strip-Out

Existing kitchen removed cleanly, with full protection of period flooring and adjacent rooms, dust suppression and waste removal — never as a hidden extra.

05

First-Fix Trades

Plumbing, electrics, gas, plastering and structural alterations coordinated by our trusted Hampstead crew, with all certifications on completion.

06

Installation & Snagging

Cabinetry installed by the carpenters who built it. Worktops, splashbacks, appliances and lighting fitted to a level we sign off personally before handover.

The detail that separates a kitchen
that belongs from one that doesn’t.

A bespoke kitchen in a Hampstead Arts and Crafts home is a fundamentally different brief from a fitted kitchen in a flat below the heath. The constraints are different, the planning environment is different, and the buildings reward a different kind of attention.

We have refurbished kitchens across NW3 long enough to know how the Hampstead Conservation Area rules apply in practice, where listed-building consent is non-negotiable, how to deliver into addresses with steep hill gradients and narrow village lanes, and how London Borough of Camden handles parking permits and skip licences. All of it is factored in at quote stage.

We needed help with repairs after a water leak. Igor came back to me quickly with a quote and completed the job that weekend. Would highly recommend.

What Hampstead clients
most often ask.

Every kitchen is priced individually. Igor visits the property, assesses scope, materials, structural and conservation considerations, and provides a detailed written quotation itemised line by line. We do not publish indicative pricing online — the variables are too significant to give a useful range. Standard 20% VAT is shown separately on every quote.
Yes. Side-return and rear extensions on Hampstead’s Victorian and Edwardian houses — particularly around Belsize Park, South End Green and the streets running off Rosslyn Hill — are a regular brief for us. We coordinate structural engineering, building control, party-wall surveying and London Borough of Camden planning where required.
Yes. The Hampstead Conservation Area covers Hampstead Village and much of NW3, with a high concentration of listed buildings around Church Row, Holly Hill, Flask Walk and the Heath. Internal kitchen refurbishment is normally permitted, but listed-building consent applies to any change affecting historic fabric — including chimney breasts, panelling, plasterwork and original windows. We work to those constraints by default.
Hampstead Village has some of the tightest access constraints in north London — narrow lanes, steep hill gradients around Heath Street and Holly Hill, single-vehicle frontages and limited parking. We arrange contractor parking with London Borough of Camden ahead of every project, plan deliveries around the access reality, and factor lift-and-carry constraints into the programme rather than discovering them mid-project.
A complete bespoke kitchen refurbishment in Hampstead typically takes 6 to 10 weeks on site. Bespoke cabinetry and stone worktop lead times run in parallel during the design phase, so the on-site programme is not held up waiting for materials. Where structural alterations or extensions are involved, the overall programme extends accordingly. We confirm exact timelines in writing after the property visit.

A kitchen rarely sits in isolation.

Many of our Hampstead clients commission us for the surrounding work too — bathrooms, joinery, complete refurbishment. Each can be delivered alone or as part of a single programme.

We build kitchens
across Hampstead’s neighbours, too.

If you are just outside Hampstead, we almost certainly cover you for bespoke kitchen refurbishment. Explore our adjacent area pages.
